Although income is generated by lesson fees, hire charges (of instruments and practice rooms) and concerts and recitals, funding is essential. As with all educational institutions, continued support is essential if the wonderful achievements are to continue to grow and develop.

Students of all ages and from all backgrounds come to KMS. As well as instrumental tuition, they have the opportunity to take part in ensembles, orchestra, jazz and swing bands, choral singing from close-harmony to oratorio and sometimes full- scale opera productions. Already more than 4,000 students have benefitted from lessons and many have passed the ABRSM examinations with results well above the international average. This includes over 60 Diplomas in both teaching and performing. Several students have won scholarships to study in the UK, USA and Germany and have embarked on professional careers. Many are now teaching locally.
