FRIENDS OF KAMPALA MUSIC SCHOOL is a Charity which enables both individual and corporate supporters to make tax efficient gifts, either as a lump sum or spread over a number of years. Individuals who are taxpayers can sign a Gift Aid declaration thus enabling every donation to increase in value to FKMS by 25% at no cost to the donor.

There's so many ways you can help us fundraise by here are just a few ideas ...

Sing or Play - Music Heals

Organise a concert, play non-stop in a 24 hour Music-A-Thon, or challenge yourself to learn a musical instrument with a sponsored Grade-A-Thon. The boys at Eton College raised £2,500 with a 24 hour Organ-A-Thon. We’re here to help find a venue, publicise your event and send out fundraising packs too.

A Sponsored Walk

Get your walking boots on! One of our Friends raised just over £3,500 by walking 200 miles of the Coast to Coast path – from St Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay – in two weeks. The boarding community at The Junior King’s School, Canterbury completed a 9-mile sponsored walk along the Kentish coastland and raised £2,500.

Memory Giving and Legacy Giving

Some families have requested a donation to our Charity instead of floral tributes. www.memorygiving.com lets you make an on-line donation in memory of a loved one. As a registered Charity, legacy gifts to Friends of Kampala Music School are free from Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax and as such could be of benefit to the remainder of your estate. There are two important ways you can leave a gift to a Charity:

1. A pecuniary gift – when you leave a specific amount of money.

2. A residuary gift – when you leave a percentage of your estate.

If you have already made your will, a codicil may be the answer providing a most favourable and easy procedure of adding your request to your existing will. We would advise you to consult your solicitor to advise what is best for your particular circumstance.
